- Download the 2.0.2 file
- Shift + Upgrade button in iTunes with the file
- Use the new Quickpwn and follow the steps to activate and jailbreak. Do not select the option to unlock.
bye!

Now, I know this QuickPwn program doesn't support direct upgrading from inside the program (or ipsw creation, rather). But does anyone know if the upcoming PwnageTool is going to support upgrading without restoring? I think I remember reading that it would somewhere, my main reason in asking is because I don't want to have to reinstall my Jailbreak apps again and setup all my Customize stuff from scratch.
And another question, if I do wait until the new PwnageTool is released and decide to make a custom ipsw with NO baseband update, are the supposed "reception fixes" going to take any effect on my iPhone 3G? Or would the baseband have to be updated to get those so called fixes?
Thanks,
KoNeko

3G user here and quickpwn works fine.
I used the 2.0.1 trick and now this new version.
Both work totally safe.

Same here, but what i noticed is both FW's 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 ran fast and smooth like there supposed to. But as soon as i jailbroke and added apps thats when my phone slowed down and texting got slower and apps open slower. So a fresh iphone runs fast and smooth and an iphone with lots of apps whether jailbroke or not runs like a 20g dell laptop, like the one im typing on now. So what i'm saying is, It's going to happen no matter what apple does.

This wont brick your 3G.
But if you want to unlock your 3G phone in the future then don't update because the 2.0.2 update includes a baseband update for the 3G iPhone.
QuickPWN works fine with 3G.

Yeah I had the same issue, so I put my phone in DFU and shift + restore to the 2.0.2 (OEM) I downloaded from BigBoss. its just finishing the software restore now.
edit: verifying, and now finishing....
Quickpwn Edit: I am running on 2.0.2 jailbroken, and unlocked. Great job Dev Team that was quick and painless. Now for a backup restore in itunes.
Vista Home, QuickPwn GUI, (2) 8GB 1st Gen. iPhones, Downloaded OEM 2.0.1 and 2.0.2
Used 2.0.1 to set up quickpwn to pwn 2.0.2 everything is great, I am seeing a big big change in how smooth the phone operates now. Full bars as usual. EDGE seems a bit faster.(TMobile)
Note: What I posted above regarding how the phone runs is after getting it all set up with all 3rd party apps. etc everything back to normal.

C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes
If you can't find it just do a search for 2.0.2 and it will find it.

1.1.4 was never slow no matter what was installed on it. apple just doesn't care if there customers aren't happy anymore. Not that they ever did.
