A Couple of Interesting Things With 2.0.2 Upgrade
Equipment: Iphone 3G 16GB Black
Previous Firmware: 2.0.1 Jailbroken with WinPWN
Current Firmware: 2.0.2 Jailbroken with QuickPWN
Method:
1 - Upgrade to 2.0.2 using iTunes
2 - Jailbreak using QuickPWN
I assumed that upgrading to 2.0.2 using iTunes would delete all of the custom software from my phone. - This didn't happen, exactly.
The /private/var/stash folder was not deleted, however, when I started installing things, duplicate folders were created e.g. I had Themes.yaZge and Themes.ypk5CD, same thing for Applications and all of my other stash folders. Also, when I installed NES, I did not have to re-upload my games. I still had to reinstall stuff or move it from the old Applications folder to the new one, but everything remained on the phone, which was not true in the past.
If QuickPWN could have taken advantage of this and not duplicated the folders, I wouldn't have had to reinstall anything....
