Low memory affects performance?

Im on an ipod on 2.0.2 and jailbroken.
Just updated to 2.x a few days ago and i know that its pretty new and everything and that yes there are going to be some issues but i've been experiencing those especially with cydia and the myspace app (most used stuff i guess).

So up until yesterday i thought it was the new firmware so just ignored it, no biggie...

but when i checked my memory i found out i had only 65MB left of the starting 500 on the OS disk so i tought that that might be the reason and i was hoping that some of you might now if this is even logical or if thats enough memory for the ipod to run fine.

OH and on the other disk there'es plenty of space (5.1 out of 7.8 or so)

I haven't noticed if that does hinder performance, I would suspect no, as filling it up doesn't do much (not something as bad as, say, fragmentation) performance-wise. But if you do worry, BossPrefs has a way to place the apps in the main partition and not the OS partition.
