You have to use SSH/SCP to transfer a SMB theme to your /var/root/Springroll directory (in it's own new directory).

then use a SSH/terminal session and do
sr backup
This will backup your existing theme/default theme

sr smbconv THEMENAME
this converts the summerboard theme for springroll

sr theme THEMENAME

this will activate the converted theme.

On a side note, is it not possible to have a springboard (not lock screen) wallpaper? Is this something that was done w/ summerboard? I'm pretty new at all this, but i couldn't find any place in teh standard locations where a background would go.

alright so ive downloaded themes from this website, but i am running cydia on my ipod touch 2.0, how do i get the themes on there? ive got WinSCP and i've remoted into my ipod but once i do that, what do i put into the SpringRoll folder? and also, i was messing around with the NES ROMS and i put them into the appropriate folders but when i disconnect, i load NES and it still says that no roms were found but once i go back into the folder, there are about 100 of them there. Any help? But mostly, the theme question please!

"sr backup
This will backup your existing theme/default theme

sr smbconv THEMENAME
this converts the summerboard theme for springroll

sr theme THEMENAME"

you mentioned this in your first reply.. couple questions though.. i dont understand where the sr backup is, how do you get a summerboard theme, and then how do you convert it.. like i know how to WinSCP and then once i load it, there are so many different options and choices.. i just need like a walkthrough of actually how to do these things. you can mention them but i still have no idea!

This is already done...

On the link that Freakin provided, are links to 3 YouTube videos that walk the viewer through the process.

Followed one of them yesterday...now rollin' with the Radiance theme and a few custom icons...

I'm using blueprint (though it is more like Blackprint without springboard backgrounds) with Radiance icons to supplement

Just guessing....does the theme you used contain icons for the unchanged apps (I'm guessing not). It changed some of them on mine (used Radiance theme).

Also, the background for the home screen has not been made 'easily' changeable yet. There are a couple of threads about it in the Files/Mods section. It's somewhat complicated....haven't tried it yet. I like the black backgrounds for both the lockscreen (for Intelliscreen) and homescreen (makes the App icons look better IMO).

I am trying to get the vista perfection 3.5 theme and i have it downloaded and i moved all of the files and got most of everything to work (took me a bit of time copying and pasting but i managed) but the stupid wallpaper is still ugly! I am just looking for the folder in the SSH where to put wallpapers and icons also so i can make my own custom theme!

Here's the thread. Haven't tried it, but have been watching what they are doing and it 'makes sense'....

Summerboard functionality manually

do you think cydia will have programs to make editing homescreens easier? like full themes that just do all of the work for you? is that likely? like i see you can download all of these themes and people have these backgrounds on their homescreens all over the place and i really would love to have them, but everytime i upload a theme, it only does the icons, it sucks! that way that you showed me seems so complicated its not even worth it
