genesis4iphone, from Zodttd, is a Sega Genesis/SegaCD emulator for the iPhone/iPod Touch. With this app you can play most of your favorite old Sega games from the early 90’s. Most genesis roms run pretty well with no lag. Only the smaller SegaCD games, however, are usable. The more graphically intense SegaCD games are virtually unplayable. Overall, the sound is a pitched a little too high and it’s better to have it switched off in the preferences. This will also give you a speed boost in terms of playability. Getting used to the touch screen controls is a little tricky and requires a little practice for those unused to Zod’s other emulators. Once you get the hang of it, however, it becomes quite easy. Rom’s can load a little slow but when compressed in .zip they load much faster. Overall an amazing app and another great emulator entry from Zod.

Rom’s are added either through ssh or by certain secret Installer repos (don’t ask). They should be placed in /private/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/GENESIS                     (Capitalizations matter)

Advanced Tip: Some may have problems with saving game states. This can be fixed by ssh’ing in and entering the command: chown -hR mobile /var/mobile
