I disabled iTunes and all relevant apple services during quickpwn on BOTH of my iPhones. Same way, same proper result. Now running 2.0.2 on both with Cydia and Installer and all of the relative apps thereof.
I read the BigBoss thread and many people were having problems - probably because they did not kill the apple and iTunes apps before quickpwn'ing. I reiterate, I have done this on both of my iPhones, pwned at 2.0, restored to 2.0.1 with pwn'ed firmware and UPDATED to 2.0.2 and then quickpwn'ed. One with the original and one with the GUI.

So let me get this straight, according to mbaharvard (2 posts above me) this DOES work on the new Apple update 2.02?
UPDATE: I JUST installed this on 2.02! When it asks to copy the back up file into the binary i copied the 2.01 and it WORKS FINE!!!! Installer is COMPLETELY useless and doesnt have a single application so do not bother downloading it. I just downloaded it so ill keep you updated if I run into any bugs.

@ Reket, why don't you add some sources into Installer, refresh and you should be up and running

From what I hear, Cydia is better than installer and has everything and more... Is there a point of getting more sources for Installer or should I just delete it and not use up space

@keaneburke: yes, both are unlocked with 2.0.2 firmware but, mind you, I had already unlocked them with 2.0 and 2.0.1 pwn'ed firmware. I used quickpwn after updating to 2.0.2 to get Cydia back - the phone itself remained unlocked after the update to 2.0.2.

no, you have to upgrade to 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 before running QP.

DO NOT LEAVE iTunes on during quickpwn! I don't know why people post such erroneous info

When I did it with iTunes off Quickpwn just hung. I read BigBoss's article on sleepers.net and tried again leaving iTunes open and voila! I did kill the iTunesHelper service though as I did with Winpwn.

I Successfully jailbroke my iPhone 3G with the QuickPwn...
I found it even better than Winpwn, with winpwn, my phone wasnt
getting any service, and with quickpwn i got it the first try. (woot)
i closed both iTunes and that iTuneshelper thing for those wondering....

Using this quickpwn GUI, how do you change the boot logo and the restore logo pngs?
I'm trying to figure it out, it was easy with the old quickpwn. Must be simple, I'm so tired I can't think straight. Where's my Monster????

Okay, that didn't work. Thought I had it figured it out. Sheesh. I used Uniextract and opened up the GUI file, switched the pngs and ran the program. But the old logo and recovery pngs were still included. How to switch?
Thanks again!
